Nook Time on Friday

Our library has 15 Nooks and Mrs. Czaicki wanted everyone to get a chance to use the Nooks so they've been spending one day in each classroom for the last several weeks. Our class had the Nooks on Friday.  The students had fun reading from the Nooks!  Ask your child what they liked about reading with a Nook.

Shirley Washington, a news reporter from Fox 2, was our guest speaker at Long Elementary today.  Our second grade class and our 5th grade buddy class were invited to hear her speak.  She told us about her job as a reporter and gave the students good advice about working hard in school.  Ask your child to tell you more tonight.  Also, look for us on Fox 2 News tonight!

Animal Reports

February is Black History Month and we're reading about many famous black Americans.  The students are working in groups or two or three and writing a report about a famous black Americans.
