Science Fun!

The students learned that we can make different sounds.  Sounds can be loud or soft.  Sounds are also different in pitch.  Thicker or longer strings vibrate more slowly so they make a low sound.  Thinner or shorter strings vibrate faster and they make a high sound.  When we tried out the glasses the students could tell which was higher and lower.

Measuring in Math

The students enjoyed using the balance scales to measure the weight of things in our classroom.  Yesterday we used paper clips and cubes to measure the weight and today we used ounces and pound weights to measure.  The students love to measure!

Adding Details to Stories

The students love adding details to the stories on the flipcharts.  Check out their ideas below:

Using Flipcharts to Sort Words for Spelling

The students love sorting their weekly spelling words at the board.

Using Flipcharts to Teach Reading Strategies

We're learning about Main Idea and Cause & Effect. Some students wrote their ideas on the board and other students typed in their response with the Activotes.  We looked at everyone's answers and then sorted them into the right category.  The students love using flipcharts and Activotes to learn more about reading strategies.
